Prism uses a unique way to store and display different versions to users and developers. Unlike the industry-standard of major.minor.revision, Prism uses [stage].rev.[bot-revision].[feature-id].[hash-segment] which is harder to understand but provide a more in-depth level of understanding to what was recently changed.

Stages

Stages are as it sounds, the different stages that a feature or sometimes the bot is going under.
  • STBL — Stands for Stable. This is a fully tested build of the feature the bot has and no longer has flagship restrictions.
  • RC-PROD — Stands for Release Candidate Stable. The final staging build before moving into a fully public stable release.
  • RC-BETA — Stands for Release Candidate Beta. This is a step above the BETA stage where that feature is nearing RC-REL status.
  • BETA — As the name suggests, this is testing in selected guilds (servers) where users are reminded of sending feedback.
  • ALPHA — Similarly as above, this is early experimental builds that is usually unstable/unbalanced. This is usually locked behind the Prism’s Scouts server.
  • PR-DEV — This stage is rarely used or published as a changelog. This stage stands for Pre-Development where that feature hasn’t been programmed just yet.

Revisions

The revisions system is for each build that has been published. This keeps track of the total updates that have been published. Example: rev.263 or rev.754

Feature ID

Identifies what part of the bot was touched. An example being command /battle was touched so its cmd-battle. These can stack but usually isn’t needed. A stacked feature ID could look like cmd-battle-ui-embed

Hash Segment

This hash segment is a compact date-time code which tells you when the build was published or compiled. So if the date was December 25th, 2026, the “hash” will be 261225.
