# Permissions

The permissions system in Ticketr is fairly straight forward. However they may be confusing at first glance so this page will help clarify this.

## Normal Roles

For global permissions for each command that isn't directly tied to interactions like closing a ticket panel Ticketr offers the following:

| Permission | What does it do? |
| :- | :-: |
| Admin Roles | This setting locks commands that are check for either Administrator permissions or a role from this array of roles. These people have access to the dashboard and can post a ticket panel. |
| Staff Roles | Similarly to Admin Roles, this command will also lock commands to staff only. |
| Blacklist Roles | Blocks members with these roles from interacting with this bot. |

## Ticket Specific Roles

Ticketr allows for the ability to lock specific ticket categories to certain roles instead of `Normal Roles`. For example, Ticket categorie "Server Inquiries" allows the Server Director, Administrator and Staff roles to manage this specific category.

| Role Setting | What does it do? |
| :- | :-: |
| Ping Roles | Determines what role gets pinged in this specific ticket category. |
| Manager Roles | These roles are allowed to close/manage tickets in this specific ticket category. They also have access to some commands such as `/ticket add-user`, `/ticket update`, and `/ticket close-request`. |
| Restricted Roles | Only members with one of these roles may open tickets in that category. |

  ##### Information about Ticket Admin Roles. <br />

Unlike category-specific Manager Roles, the Global Ticket Admin grants
unrestricted "super admin" privileges across all categories ignoring
standard manager restrictions. Only assign this role to trusted
  administrators.
